JP (Jesse Phoenix) Weitz is a seasoned dispute resolution professional with more than 30 years of experience across a wide range of sectors, including military law, labour law, family law, the healthcare industry, and early childhood development.

His diverse professional background has strengthened his commitment to advancing access to justice and promoting appropriate dispute resolution. He is known for his strong sense of justice, fair-minded approach to problem-solving, and people-centred style in resolving conflict.

JP holds B.Juris and LLB degrees from North-West University, as well as an Advanced Programme in Labour Law from the University of Pretoria. His legal training is further complemented by extensive mediation qualifications, including certification as a Family and Divorce Mediator through Mediation Academy, and as a Civil, Commercial and Workplace Mediator through Conflict Dynamics.

He is an admitted advocate of the High Court and now serves as a full-time mediator on the non-practising roll.

JP also volunteers his mediation services at various Children’s Courts and Domestic Violence Courts in Gauteng, helping to expand access to professional mediation services for individuals and families who may not otherwise be able to afford them.

In addition to his legal and mediation work, he has spent more than 30 years working with children in supportive, instructional, and educational roles.
