Debbie Chetty is a duly admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, with a focused practice in family law and civil litigation. She is an Accredited Family, Civil and Commercial Mediator, and a Voice of the Child Practitioner, committed to resolving disputes in a manner that is solution-driven.

With a strong foundation in litigation and alternative dispute resolution, Debbie brings a balanced approach to legal practice, combining firm legal strategy with empathy and practical problem-solving. Debbie holds a degree in Psychology, and her work is particularly centred on family law matters, where she prioritises the best interests of the child while guiding clients through complex and often emotionally charged disputes.

Debbie has over 20 years of experience in the medical industry and is also trained in Road Accident Fund (RAF) and medical negligence mediation through AFSA, further strengthening her ability to facilitate effective, fair, and efficient dispute resolution in specialised areas of law.

She was actively involved in pro bono work as a mediator at the Protea Magistrate’s Court and the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, where she assists parties in resolving disputes relating to parenting plans. Through this work, Debbie plays a meaningful role in improving access to justice and supporting families in reaching child-focused, practical agreements.
