Professional background and experience:
Aaron is an accredited mediator through Conflict Dynamics (2025), internationally accredited by CEDR (the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution), and an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. He brings over three decades of experience in workplace dispute resolution, beginning his career as a union representative and later transitioning into senior managerial roles. His career has been defined by a commitment to fair and constructive labour relations, with expertise in conflict resolution, employee relations, human resources processes, and disciplinary procedures. As former chairperson of the South African Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers Union (SACCAWU) in the Tshwane local region, Aaron developed a nuanced understanding of collective bargaining, workplace negotiations, and the dynamics of organisational change. He has trained managers in dispute resolution strategies for over 12 years and remains a trusted figure in both union and management circles.
Aaron holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the University of South Africa, a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law from the University of Johannesburg. His credentials further include a Postgraduate Labour Dispute Resolution Practice Certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand (CCMA‑endorsed), along with various Labour Relations courses completed at the University of Johannesburg. He is a certified facilitator, assessor, and moderator with the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) . He previously served as a teaching assistant in labour law for final‑year Bachelor of Laws students at the University of the Witwatersrand. He is also pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law at the University of the Witwatersrand, focusing on Rule 41A of the Uniform Rules of Court of South Africa.
